Google expands ‘Preferred Sources’ to everyone so you actually see your favorite sites - 9to5Google

Launched in the second half of 2025, Google is now expanding its “Preferred Sources” tool in Search to all users in all languages across the globe. The idea of “Preferred Sources” is to make it easier to see the sites you actually want to read and care about in Google News more frequently. So, instead of being at the will of the algorithm, you can see stories from sites you want to follow when researching news topics. The idea here isn’t to cut out other news sources entirely, but just to ensure you see articles from the publications you actually like, trust, or simply want to read. Initially, this was limited to certain regions and languages, expanding globally towards the end of 2025 in English, but Google is opening the floodgates. As of today, “Preferred Sources” is now available globally in “all supported languages.”
